He then obtained residency at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, department of ophthalmology, Stein Institute.

SMILE
As stated previously, he was the first to perform the SMILE procedure. What is SMILE you may ask? It’s a procedure that uses a femtosecond laser. Creating a small incision inside the intact cornea. The incision made is actually smaller than the Lasik flap.
