Dental Implant: A Guide to Different Types of Implants

You will need to replace the broken or missing teeth, whether you lost them due to poor oral hygiene, trauma, oral infections, or other causes. Missing teeth are more than just an aesthetic problem or an inevitable component of aging. Your oral health, self-esteem, and attractiveness could all suffer as a result. Most importantly, missing teeth can lead to repositioning other teeth, which can lead to issues with bite alignment and jaw strain.

The world does not end if one has lost teeth, though. Thankfully, there are specific procedures to restore missing teeth. Dental implants are the most popular method.

Since they seem natural and long-lasting, dental implants are preferred by people with unhealthy or missing teeth. An aggressive strategy, however, can be needed for prompt results when several teeth need to be treated.

Discuss your options with your trusted dentist in Omaha, NE, before making any decision.

The Various Forms of Dental Implants

We’ll go over your dental implant alternatives now. There are numerous sizes and shapes available for dental implants. The two most popular types are all-on-four dental implants and ordinary or typical dental implants.

Replacing just one tooth

This approach is employed when one tooth is lost or when several teeth are missing in various places throughout the mouth. During this surgery, a titanium post is implanted into the jaw, which allows the bone to fuse around it. An abutment piece is attached to the top of the implant, which is the most critical part.

Replacement of subsequent teeth

A dental bridge that is fixed in situ can be used to replace several consecutive lost teeth. You won’t have to be concerned about your natural teeth deteriorating, as with conventional bridges. Two dental implants are positioned at the ends of the space where teeth are lacking. Dental crowns will be attached to the implant from end to end, with false teeth in the middle.

Replace the entire arch

In cases where a whole arch of teeth is gone, dentures are typically the best alternative. Dentures that are supported by implants combine the comfort of a removable denture with the stability of implants. A number of implants that are inserted into the arch serve as anchors for a denture. This denture doesn’t need to be taken out or cleaned in any particular way.
